法国年鉴学派的主要代表人物费尔南·布罗代尔认为，历史时间可以分为短、中、长三个时期。只有通过一个地区几个世纪以来长期不断的、极其缓慢的变化现象，如地理气候、生态环境、社会组织、思想传统等，才能从根本上把握历史的整体，了解深刻的历史结构。时间是社会生活展开的维度。人类既然有了时间的概念，就永远无法打破过去、现在和未来的枷锁。结合滑县的历史、地理、文化、民俗等因素，解读滑县村民节日习俗的传承现状，窥探节日习俗中的村落社会逻辑。它不仅具有自身独特的历史、地理、时空等文化特征，而且接受传统文化，融合新文化。无论是何种文化元素，都一定对村民的生活产生了影响，能体现出他们内心的诉求和充满活力的文化。
